What is 347H stainless steel tube?

Grade 347H is austenitic steel that has high carbon and added chromium in its chemical composition. The 347H Stainless Steel shows good mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and welding performance. The Welded SS 347H Tubes are mostly used in applications where high temperature resistance is an essential requirement, like heat exchangers, aircraft exhaust, etc.

SS 347H Welded Tubes has enhanced creep resistance and strength at 537 degrees C and above temperatures. They are mostly used for heavy welded equipment where annealing is not possible. The material also shows good oxidation resistance, which are on par with most of the other austenitic stainless steel grades. Due to carbon content, the SA213 TP347H ERW Tubes often enables dual certification.

What is ASTM A213 TP347H hot finished seamless tubing?

The hot finished 347H SS Coil Tubing is perforated after revolving heated bar. They are more affordable than the cold drawn tubing solutions due to wider tolerance range on OD and ID. Hot finish do not provide high quality surface finish like that of cold drawn tubes.

An advantage of getting hot finished tubes is that they have thicker walls than tubes produced by any other manufacturing methods. It also exhibits high strength and good mechanical properties. The hot finished ASTM A213 TP347H tubes can be found in several high pressure and heavy duty applications.

Advantages of stainless steel 347H heat exchanger tubes

The WNR 1.4961 Cold Drawn Seamless Tubes has high strength and good mechanical properties. The alloy has a high carbon content and possess enhanced strength. The Stainless Steel 347H Heat Exchanger Tubes can be ideally used for various high temperature applications, like heaters, boilers, pressure vessels, and so on. They are mainly used where the 304 grade ss is vulnerable to intergranular corrosion.

The Type 347H Bright Annealed Tubes show good resistance to sensitization and they can be used for waste heat recovery. They are susceptible to stress corrosion cracking but exhibit decent oxidation resistance like other austenitic grades.
