What is ASTM A269 TP316L Tube?

ASTM A269 TP316L standard shows good resistance to oxidation and can resist high pressure conditions. They are intended for general corrosion resisting and low or high temperature service. ASTM A269 TP316L Tube is the low carbon version of Type 316 ss. It contains molybdenum in the chemical composition which enhances corrosion resistance, especially in chloride environments.

It is used in industries where corrosion resistance and high temperature performance are crucial. Thus, the ASTM A269 Gr TP316L Heater Tubes are found in chemical, petrochemical, food processing, pharmaceutical and marine industries. The tubing sizes range from 1/8" to 5" in OD and wall thicknesses between 0.015" to 0.320".

What is 316L Seamless Tube ASTM A269?

The seamless tubes do not have any welding seams or joints along their length. It involves the continuous extrusion of a solid cylindrical billet to form a hollow tube. A269 TP316L Seamless Tubes have consistent mechanical properties throughout their length. They show improved resistance to corrosion due to the absence of weak seams. The seamless manufacturing process ensures a smooth interior surface which makes them suitable for hygenic applications.

The seamless SA 269 Grade TP316L Coil Tubing can be produced in various sizes and wall thicknesses. They come with thicker walls that have greater strength and pressure capacity. This is why seamless tubes are used in critical applications in industries like oil & gas, petrochemical, automotive, aerospace, etc.
