What is ASTM A790 UNS S32750 Pipe ?

ASTM A790 UNS S32750 Pipe is a super duplex stainless steel pipe in accordance with the ASTM A790 standards that specify the welded and seamless pipes. UNS S32750 also referred to as Super Duplex 2507 is an alloy which is dual phase ferritic-austenitic in the structure and as a result exhibits excellent mechanical strength, toughness coupled with corrosion resistance.

It consists of 25% chromium, 7% nickel and 4% molybdenum that makes the material highly resistant to chloride influenced corrosion such as pitting, crevice corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. These features make the material ideal for applications that most require high performance such as seawater, chemical, offshore oil and gas, and seawater desalination.

The mechanical properties of ASTM A790 UNS S32750 pipe it has tensile strength of 750-1000 MPa and yield strength of 550-700 MPa besides having good toughness at low temperatures. Pitting attack assessment is usually determined by the PREN, in respect of which this grade carries a PREN value of more than 40, making it resistant to this form of corrosion.

These pipes are for use where both mechanical properties and very high corrosion resistance are paramount, such as in heat exchanges, pressure vessels, and structural members for chemical or marine products.
