What is Duplex stainless steel tube?
Duplex is a two phase alloy with 50-50 of both austenite and ferrite in its microstructure. The Duplex Stainless Steel is more affordable than other steel alloys and can also minimize weakness. They show good ductility than the martensitic and ferritic grades to at least -50 °C. The duplex material has high chromium and molybdenum content. But the Duplex Tubes have a lower nickel content compared to the austenitic grades of stainless steel. Due to this composition, they show good resistance to corrosion.
As the Duplex Steel Tubes has properties of both ferrite and austentic, they are the most sought after in heavy industries, like nuclear, oil and gas, chemical processing, etc. They have high strength, good toughness and ductility.
Advantages to use Duplex steel tube in heat exchangers & boilers
Due to the high chromium content in the Duplex Heat Exchanger Tubes, the alloy forms a protective layer on the surface of the tube. This enhances the corrosion resistance properties of the tubes by oxidation. Duplex Seamless Tubes comes with higher yield strength, which is almost twice of the conventional austenitic stainless steel.
The wall thickness and cross section of the tubes can be reduced without affecting its mechanical properties. They will continue to deliver the same performance. These are the reasons why Duplex Stainless Steel Tube manufacturers in India recommend using high quality duplex tubes for heat exchangers.

What is fractional 2205 tubing?
The 2205 tubing material is high strength and corrosion resistant alloy. The term "fractional" usually refers to the outside diameter (OD) size of the tubing, which is typically expressed in fractional inches. Fractional Duplex 2205 Tubes is commonly used in various commercial and industrial applications like chemical processing, oil and gas production and marine environments. They are available in both welded and seamless forms and can be custom-made to different sizes and specifications.
