What is Hastelloy C276 Tube?

Hastelloy C276 material contains nickel, chromium, and molybdenum in its alloy. This is a solid solution strengthened superalloy with tungsten, cobalt, and iron. Hastelloy C276 is the tradename for UNS N10276 Tubes, where UNS N10276 is the designation.

C276 is considered to be one of the most versatile alloys that help to effectively resist corrosion. It can be used in extremely corrosive environments which most of the other alloys cannot withstand. The C276 tubes can also resist oxidation at temperatures up to 1038 °C. In the annealed condition, the Hastelloy C276 Seamless Tubes has a yield strength of 345 MPa, and it can achieve higher strength by pigler process. The material shows excellent toughness even at cryogenic temperatures.

  • Hastelloy C276 Tube shows great resistance to corrosion in different corrosive media.
  • The material has a high molybdenum content, which helps resist localized corrosion like pitting.
  • The alloy also possesses low carbon content, which minimizes the occurrence of carbide precipitation during the welding process. This helps to resist intergranular attacks in the heat-affected welded joint zones.
  • The Hastelloy 2.4819 Welded Tubes shows exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid, along with several other media used during chemical processing.
  • They can also resist seawater corrosion, especially under crevice conditions.
