What is Incoloy 800H Tube?

Incoloy 800H tube is a very high strength nickel chrome based alloy which exhibits immunity to oxidation, carburization and high temperature corrosion. It is a variant of Incoloy 800 with improved strength as a result of limiting its carbon and other constitutional impurities. To this end, stabilization of the structure is achieved through the incorporation of titanium and aluminum, which minimizes precipitation of carbide during high temperature use.

The Incoloy 800H tubes are particularly suitable for use in high temperature services and some of its applications include heat exchangers, petrochemical industries as well as furnace parts. Due to the fact that they can operate in high temperatures up to 1100°F or 600°C and also in aggressive environments, to their applications include industries that require strength and corrosion resistance.

ASTM B407 UNS N08811 vs N08810 material

ASTM B407 Uns N08811 and UNS N08810 are two types of alloys that are sourced from nickel chrome materials but holds much variance between them having varying compositions and use. UNS N08811 or Incoloy 800HT is an improved material with superior creep and rupture strength at high temperatures and is especially useful where components are to be operated for long durations at high temperatures to resist stress rupture. It also contains titanium and aluminium that would help in increasing the stability against carbide precipitation.

On the other hand, UNS N08810 referred to as Incoloy 800 is relatively similar to it, only that its carbon content is lower and contains other minor alloying elements. The steel also provides moderate resistance to higher forms of oxidation and carburization making it suitable for moderate temperatures. Both are used in heat exchangers furnace parts and also in chemical processing plants.
