What is stainless steel medical tubing?
Medical tubes are manufactured to meet the demands of medical processionals like administering fluids, around the world. Stainless Steel Medical Tubing is available as a thin-walled seamless or welded variant. They are also present in redrawn condition or as thick-walled seamless tubes. They are manufactured with different grades of SS and are delivered in cold-drawn condition.
The Medical Grade Stainless Steel Pipe can have different finishes like extremely polished or bright surfaces. It basically depends on the size and the wall thickness of the pipe. The 304 and 316 grades of stainless steels can be used as medical or Surgical Steel Tubing. They come with good corrosion resistance and can be used for various biomedical applications. The 316 medical tubes show better performing than grade 304, but it is more expensive too.
Full hard vs 3/4 hard hypodermic tubing
The small diameter tubes are generally considered to be full hard Stainless Steel Hypotube. They are basically welded and drawn to tight tolerances. The full hard tube is an effective component for applications that require high strength, good corrosion resistance, and uniformity. However, the performance level depends on the material grade of the tube.
The ¾ hard Stainless Steel Hypodermic Tubing has lesser tensile strength and tolerances than the full hard tubing solutions. The 316 grade hypo tubes are used for injection under the skin. They are used for injecting substances into the body or for extracting fluids from it.
