Super duplex tube

What is super duplex tube?

The Super Duplex material has a combination of different features present in ferritic and austenitic grade stainless steel. It means that the tube possesses its high strength from the ferritic structure, whereas its corrosion resistance properties are from austenitic structure. The Super Duplex Tubing solutions also show good resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The tubes possess good toughness and are readily available at a competitive price.

They show good tensile strength and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking at moderate temperature conditions. The chemical composition of 2507 Tubing has added chromium which increases its ability to resist pitting corrosion. They are available in a wide range of sizes and can be customized according to the client requirements. Super Duplex Tubes are used for processing gas & oil and also in heat exchangers.

Advantages of super duplex seamless tube and welded tube

Advantages of Super Duplex Seamless Tubes

  • They show overall good performance with more resistance to leakage due to the absence of welds.
  • These are heavy and thick-walled tubes.
  • Seamless tubes have better corrosion resistance and enhanced durability.
  • The seamless 2507 Super Duplex Tubing can be used in high temperature and pressure applications.

Advantages of super duplex welded tubes

  • Fusion metals or tests are not needed to determine the weld integrity.
  • They are available in longer lengths.
  • These are more affordable than the seamless tubes.
  • There is no size restriction and they are readily available.
  • The welded Super Duplex 2507 Tubes have thinner walls and smoother surfaces, with lighter weight.
  • They have tighter tolerances and show consistency in their wall thickness.

Which is stronger super duplex round tubing or square tubing?

The round Super Duplex Heat Exchanger Tubes are stronger than the square ones. Due to the vertical edges and tension distribution pattern of the square tubes, some of its strength is lost when it is under pressure. However, the round 1.4410 Tubes has no such weak points and they have a consistent strength along their interior and exterior surfaces.

We have a range of 2507 super duplex tubing and 1.4410 tube sizes ranging from 6.35 mm to 152 mm or custom for use in petroleum and chemical plants
