UNS S32760 tube

What is UNS S32760 tube?

The UNS S32760 material has a ferritic-austenitic microstructure with around 40-50% ferrite in the annealed condition. The UNS S32760 Tube has high strength from ferritic grade and corrosion resistance from austenitic grade. It also shows great resistance to sulfide stress corrosion in the sour gas environment. The material also has high impact strength, and it displays no ductile-brittle transition.

Even the SA 790 UNS S32760 Welded Tube only displays slightly lower impact strength. The UNS S32760 tubes were traditionally used as pumping equipment as they were seawater-resistant material. But now, the UNS S32760 Super Duplex Heat Exchanger Tubes are found in oil and gas applications, subsea pipework systems, and more.

Difference between ASTM A790 UNS S32760 and SA 789 UNS S32760

The ASTM A790 UNS S32760 and SA 789 UNS S32760 material have a similar chemical composition and mechanical properties. But the difference between them is that the SA 789 UNS S32760 Condenser Tube is smaller in size- they are primarily used in pressure vessels.

The material is for general service applications with corrosion resistance but the tubes are not for extreme environments. Whereas the ASTM A790 UNS S32760 ERW Tube is bigger in size, and are mainly used for fluid transportation. They have higher corrosion resistance and are used in aggressive and corrosive environments.

What is ASTM A789 UNS S32760 annealed tubes?

Annealing the Duplex UNS S32760 Seamless Tube means heat treating them to remove any internal stress along with increasing their ductility. The process helps to soften the tubes, maintaining their ductility so as to enhance their workability. Clients can get ASTM A789 UNS S32760 Bright Annealed Tubes, which come with a brighter and more aesthetic surface.

Herein, the annealing process is conducted in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere to as to get the desired results. The annealing process improves the homogeneity and structure of the material. It reduces hardness and brittleness along with enhancing the magnetic property. The process increases toughness and agility of the tubes.

SA 790 UNS S32760 welded tube and A790 UNS S32760 cold drawn seamless tube are available in a range of sizes starting from 6.0mm -630mm
